We are from San Antonio now living in Rockport and I have to say this is some of the best mexican food I have ever had. Be sure to try the Tortilla Soup. My personal favorite. If it does not come with a meal, I order it separately! A family favorite.

My wife and I had eaten there before and it was very good. The bad news is that apparently those days have passed. The dining room was loud (always the case), the shrimp was rubber, my wife had to resort to Tums to settle her stomach, the waitress was rude and the manager could not have cared less.

This place definitely has the best mexican food in Rockport. They are also very consistent in being good with food and service. Sometimes you'll have to wait to get a table, but that's because they're that good.

We love Los Comales! I think it's the food...no, wait, maybe it's the great customer service..., no, maybe it's because anybody who is somebody eats here! No...I really think it's the food! Oh, man. Just thinking about the fajitas, the enchiladas, the beans, the rice! The menu is a plethora of mouth watering, unique recipes, made to order just for you. Want too many jalapenos in your sauce, they can do that for you! Don't want any jalapenos in your sauce, they'll do that, too! The 'Ritas are just the right mix of sweet and sour, tequila and lime. Good beer on tap or by the bottle. The food is too good to walk away from if the restaurant is full of people. Wait your turn, have a cold one or a 'Rita, have a sit on the porch and visit with the locals. They are waiting, too, just like you, because they know what coming next! Oh, and if you're lucky, the "El Heffe", the good-looking one will come by your table to greet you and welcome you to his restaurant and Rockport.

Los Comales is my favorite restaurant! Their menu has something for everyone. We entertain friends and family here often. We have brought groups of RVers from all over the U.S. to this restaurant and it and the friendly, professional staff never lets us down. It's one of the first place Winter Texans go when they return. I cannot say enough about the wide variety of meats, poultry, and seafood on the menu. I highly recommend the Shrimp Cocktail; El Yucateco (Eggplant stuffed with seafood); Enchilada Verde's; and the fried avocados. And if you're looking for a fun place to celebrate someones birthday - this is the place. It will be a birthday to remember. NOTE: This is a very popular restaurant so go early. It is such a great place people will wait for tables rather than leave and go somewhere else. Says a lot about this wonderful place.
